I'm learning off Zinchenko - Kieran Tierney
Arsenal left back Kieran Tierney has stated that he is learning the new inverted left back back role from Oleksandr Zinchenko.
The Scottish defender who lost his Arsenal's starting spot to Zinchenko due to Mikel Arteta's tactical switch of playing an inverted left back during build up in games said,
“I’ve done it for the last year. I’m learning it. Alex is the prime example of how to do it so if you’re going to learn off anyone, it would be Zinchenko.
“I’ve been learning off him and asking him questions but there are so many different ways of playing. The last few games I haven’t been doing that.
“It’s all learning as it was genuinely all new to me. I had never played in the centre of the park before. It wasn’t somewhere I ventured in very often before, so it makes you a better player learning.” [@MailSport]
Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta has also tried Polish Centre back Kwior in the new inverted left back in the pre season games so far with the aim of having a strong back up to Zinchenko who is the best option for the role.
The Gunners lost 0 - 2 to EPL rivals Manchester United fourth night ago in a pre season game played in United States but will be hoping go back to winning ways when they take on the Laliga Championships FC Barcelona on Wednesday.
